My blogging experience

Well… this time I will write about my experiencie with the blog. To begin, this is the first time that I have a blog, and the truth is that I really liked, because it is a new form that I had to learn english, and more entertaining because you can tell stories and remember certain moments. Furthermore, is something new for me, because at school and university to teach english, writing is not enhanced.

As to whether or not it helped me to improve my english, the truth is that he would not know if whether or not, I still costs a lot this language, but I think if I have helped in that it has made me more entertaining and not borign as the typical english classes I’ve ever had.

In my opinion, the advantages of doing a blog for english classes are mainly to have more fun and educational classes, this makes you as a student more motivated and have more willingness and desire to learn. Moreover, is that it encourages but another part of learning, writing, which often leaves a little to one side in courses and other english classes.

On the other hand, the disadvantages of having a blog to write in english teaching for me would be mainly that is not personalized, so it is very easy to go wrong and not notice the errors (besides the post of miss always deleted), and other disadvantage is that sometimes the weather was not enough to write in classes for the remainder of homework, so you could spend a little more class time to finish all the post right there.

Ok, that is all I have to say!

My ideal holidays

Hello  classmates and teacher,  today  I will talk about my ideal holidays

My ideal vacations would be in the extreme south of our country,  I do not  know it, but I would like so much know that place!. I like going to that sector because it has a varied geography, manifested in a variety of landscapes, climates, ecosystems and cultures. I wish visit “ Torres del Paine National park”, which has many natural environments, such as mountains, rivers, lakes and glaciers. The park is one of the largest in the country and one of the most important.

I’ve always wanted to make this trip, I hope someday I can do it! I would go with my family, and if it can not, with my friends!.. another fantastic place to visit is the  “Easter Island”,which is located in Polynesia, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, from what I’ve seen in the photographs and television is a really wonderful place, but very expensive for my pocket, but I hope know it later.

Well.. those are my dreams of travel today, see you next Wednesday!

My favourite picture!

This is one of my favourite pictures, and there are others that are not online. The photograph was taked on february 2007,in the beach, especifically in the town of " Las Cruces", located in the fifth region of Valparaiso, by a local resident.  I like this  photograph first because I am with my best friends, and that brings me many memories of the holidays we spent together, in which we did many things, like visiting beautiful places, we go out at night to bars, meet new people, but the most we did was talk much about our stuff!

When the photograph was taked, we were waiting  a bus to go to our home, it was seven o'clock in the morning, we came to celebrate the birthday of one of my friends. It was very fun!!, after arriving home and eating breakfast, we went to the beach and stayed there all afternoon.

My favorite place to eat

My favourite place to eat is "The insatiables", which is located in Andres of Fuenzalida, number 40, commune of Providencia, Santiago. This place is specialist in Italian food and pizzas, but also offers salads, beverages and desserts, among other things. I like a lot their pizzas, especially the " free food" that there are, where you can eat all varieties of pizza that you want! There are many types and  with different ingredients, for example is the four cheese pizza, vegetarian pizza and mediterranean pizza. I like them all, but my favorite is the spanish pizza, which that has ingredients like tomato, ham and sausage.

In the " free food" is not only savory pizzas, there are also pizzas with sweet caramel, cream, chocolate, among other, and its price is not expensive, why I like both!, I recommend " The insaciatiables" to eat a lot, very good food and a nice atention, by young people. For me is a great place, because I lived nice moments with my friends and my family since two years ago. Furthermore, my brother works near to the restaurant and he invite me one day for week to eat pizzas. It’s funny.

Stereotypes in the Fau

Hello classmates and miss!, Today I will talk about many stereotypes of my school.

In my faculty, there are many kinds of people, such as rappers, that listen hip-hop music and they use wide t-shirts, headbangers that listen heavy metal, thrash metal, death metal, black metal, groove metal and other styles and they use black clothes generally, supporters of the University of Chile, that wear t-shirts and merchandising of the blue team, people that listen reggae and music of Bob Marley. They have dread-locks in their heads and they use clothes with three colours: green, yellow and red. There are also neo-hippies, that listen psy music, such as psychdelic trance, psy rock, space rock, psybient and others. They believe in love and peace, they are very cool!

There are also punks, that listen punk rock, wear tight clothes, use chains and have a weird hairstyle. Furthermore, exist groups of skaters that listen diferent styles of music, such as hardcore and people who are always seen studying. The above groups are the most representative of the faculty, but I don’t belong to any them.

My favourite piece of technology

My favourite piece of technology is the laptop. It is a portable computer, smaller than the traditional machine, take up less space and is more comfortable. I have a laptop since two years ago  and I bought it in a Falabella store.

 I use it everyday , in my home, at the university, in the house of my classmates, when I have to do a task with them, in some metro stations and other places.
I can use it without electricity because it has a batery that lasts two hours charged. I need an internet connection, a password, and I can navegate all day!

I like it because is very usefull for me an the students, teachers, and many people. Furthermore, I can study, read the news, watch videos and photos, listen and download  a lot of different music styles. I can play games and communicate with my friends and family through social networks in the web such us a Messenger, facebook and others.

I can't imagine without a laptop because today is an important tool in this completely globalized world and allows me to be connected always everywhere. Always carry it in my bagpack!

My favourite movie

My favourite movie is "500 days of summer", I saw it the last week in my bedroom with my brother and we were drinking a juice and eating french fries and cookies! I like this film because it isn’t a common love story (with typical characters and borring topics). It is a story about love and relationships.

The protagonists are Zooey Deschanel  (a great actress) as Summer and Joseph Gordon as Tom. He is a young architest, an idealistic and romantic boy that know a pretty woman in his job, Summer. She search in Tom someone to has a great time, because they concord in many points, but Tom falls in love and he want to have a relationship with her. Summer played with the feelings of Tom, and he suffered a lot. After 500 days, Tom forget the experience with summer (she married with other boy) and he met a beautiful woman in a job interview. Her name was autumn…the love come back for Tom, the life is a cycle…. I like it so much, it  is my favourite movie!  

My favourite travel

 My favourite trip was on my holidays of 2006. I went to Pelluhue (a destroyed zone by the earthquake and later by the tsunami of february). This town was ubicated in the coast of the seventh region (Maule), near to Constitución  city.     
                                                                                                                                                                    I traveled with my brother Sebastian and more friends. We wanted rent a house, but were very expensive for our  pockets. For this, Jorge and Gonzalo  (my friends) talked with an aunt, an she gave us accomodation in her home. She was very nice with us. I always remember she with affection . 

 In pelluhue all were magnificent. We went to the beach  everyday, and at the night we bought some drinks , played guitar and sang famous songs  in front of the sea, other persons approached us and we met a lot of people!!! Furthermore, we went to both discoteques of the town.    
                                                                                                                                                               One day, we went to the concert of “the correa deaths”, that presented their new álbum. One night, we went to a magic place, between Pelluhue and Curanipe, a beach where had  a trance music party. All people were very excited! I always remember this travel because I had fun a lot…was great for me.

Carl Ritter

I want write about Karl Ritter. He was born in Quedlinburg at 1779. He was a German geographer who discovered the ultraviolet rays in 1801 and is considered along with Humboldt as one of the main collabolators of the modern geography. He founded the Berlin Society for Geography  and was fundamental in the development of the emerging geography compared. In 1819 he became professor of history at Frankfurt, and in 1820 he received a teaching appointment in history at the University of Berlin. Ritter received his doctorate there in 1821. His essential work is “The earth sciences in relation to the nature and history”.It consists of nineteen volumes that performs a complete geographical description of Africa and Asia.I like him because he explained the existing relations between the physical and human life, focusing on the social and historical processes more than the physical world phenomena. He said that “The earth is a cosmic individual with a particular organization, an ens sui generis with a progressive development: the exploration of this individuality of the earth is the task of geography".He died in 1859 at Berlín, when he was eighty years old.

Earthquake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The previous day, I arrived to Santiago from La Serena, because I was on holidays with my parents, my brother and friends. We visited many interesting places of the fourth region (Coquimbo), such as Vicuña, Elqui’s valley and others. That night, I was with my boyfriend, my brother and a friend taking some drinks,  eating french fries and listening rock music. At 03:00 AM, my friend and my boyfriend went to their homes to sleep. At 03:34, I was on my bed and I felt a very BIG SUBTERRANEAN NOISE and the earth started to move very violent. I went to the garden of my house and saw my family and embrace them  while the floor was shaking. They were very scared. I tried to calm the situation, but I was very nervous and I began to scream!!!!!!!!!!After the earthquake, we went to the home of my aunt and my cousins, that live near to my home to see them and look the damages in my neighborhood. Fortunately, there weren't harm people, and all they were ok.

Hello classmates!

My name is Daniela Plaza Rojas and  I am twenty three  years old. I study geography at the University of Chile in the Architecture and Urbanism Faculty (AUF). I live with my parents and my brother at the Independencia district. I hope that this  blog  help me to understand and know this language and do the class something nice and funny, because the english is very dificult for me. See ya!
